Mike Elkan is featured in the Antelope Valley Press. He describes magicians as, "...professional liars -- what we do is not what we say, and what we say is not the truth. ...A magician's job is to entertain the audience by whatever means possible. Some magicians do it in big fashion on stage or television, and others do it close up in an intimate setting,"  While working at the Magic Castle Elkan was booked to appear at magic conventions in France in May and in New Zealand in October. Commenting about the recent exposures of magic he said, "As a magician, if you do a good show, the people aren't trying to figure it out; they're too busy being entertained."
