Construction has stopped on David Copperfield’s restaurant in New York. Massive cost overruns used up the $26 million budget for the Magic Underground. Originally projected to cost $20 million now estimates have increased to more than $30 million. About 25 of the contractors have filed more than $15 million in liens against the project. A spokesperson said that a new backer has been found and they expect to resume construction in the next 30 days. When it finally opens it will be the most expensive restaurant in the world. Is there an information overload? Will the quantity of books and videos released also have to be scaled down? Only time will tell. (9/20)
